释义 | magnetic disk A smooth aluminium disk, usually 35.6 cm in diameter, both surfaces of which are coated with magnetic iron oxide. The disks are used as a recording medium in computers, up to ten such disks being mounted in a disk pack. Data is recorded in concentric tracks on both surfaces with up to 236 tracks per centimetre. The disks rotate at 3600 revolutions per minute, information being put onto the disk and removed from it by means of a record-playback head. See also floppy disk |
