释义 | knot theory A branch of mathematics used to classify knots and entanglements. Knot theory was developed extensively in the late 19th century in an attempt to explain the structure of atoms. Some quantities in knot theory can be expressed in terms of quantum field theories, enabling them to be used to formulate gauge theories and quantum gravity |
