单词 | induction heating |
释义 | induction heating The heating of an electrically conducting material by eddy currents induced by a varying electromagnetic field. Induction heating may be an undesirable effect leading to power loss in transformers and other electrical devices. It is, however, useful for melting and heat-treating and in forging and rolling metals, as well as for welding, brazing, and soldering. The material to be heated is inserted into a coil through which an alternating current flows and acts as the short-circuited secondary of a transformer. Eddy currents induced in the material within the coil cause the temperature of the material to rise |
