释义 | collimator 1 Any device for producing a parallel beam of radiation. A common arrangement used for light consists of a convex achromatic lens fitted to one end of a tube with an adjustable slit at the other end, the slit being at the principal focus of the lens. Light rays entering the slit leave the lens as a parallel beam. Collimators for particle beams and other types of electromagnetic radiation utilize a system of slits or apertures. 2 A small fixed telescope attached to a large astronomical telescope to assist in lining up the large one onto the desired celestial body. |
