单词 | timebase |
释义 | timebase A voltage applied to the electron beam in a cathode-ray tube at regular intervals so that the luminous spot on the screen is deflected in a predetermined manner. The timebase is usually designed to make the beam sweep the screen horizontally, the period during which the spot returns to its starting point (the flyback ) being suppressed in some contexts (e.g. in television) although in a cathode-ray oscilloscope the timebase can be put to more complicated uses |
