释义 | Lamb shift A small energy difference between two levels (2S½ and 2P½) in the hydrogen spectrum. The shift results from the quantum interaction between the atomic electron and the electromagnetic radiation. It was first discovered by Willis Eugene Lamb (1913– ). It was explained using renormalization in quantum electrodynamics by the US physicists Richard Feynman (1918–88) and Julian Seymour Schwinger (1918–94) and the Japanese physicist Sinitiro Tomonaga (1906–79) |
